Light up your bikes performance with this massive upgrade designed to loads more performance and super long range. massive acceleration and top speed improvements. This is our CEO’s personal favourite for trail riding, with enough power to spin up the back wheel when riding hard. This upgrade will also work with a standard unmodified or Bypassed battery, both giving  performance upgrades.

We listened to our customers and improved and changed things as this product evolved. We originally started this project in January 2020. That’s months of learning and evolving just on this one project. Our latest program has been revised to include MORE power, improved thermal roll back for motor protection, no problems with up hill starts or roll backwards stalls, no cutting out, extra water proofing and higher grade materials used.

The acceleration is greatly improved over standard. Remember when your buying this kit, it was only us and one other business (ERT) that created this product for the Sur Ron. Others have copied, but NO ONE can compete against the quality of these kits.


This controller can take battery swaps ranging from the standard untouched Sur Ron battery at power level 3, a fully bypassed battery at power level 4 (burst) and full 11kw on power mode 5.

The controller now features a full working display showing: speed, power, battery charge, date and trip. Set with 5 power levels as default that can be flicked at the touch of a button on the fly (just your thumb, no gloves off or stopping). Can be used like a gearbox to slip up and down the power levels (5 levels set as our default) to suit your terrain and riding style. Our latest display can have each of the 5 power levels independently tuned by you to your power tastes (overall power can not be turned up without a one off free remote session).

The controller comes fully potted and with all leads and looms fitted and waterproofed. The mounts are in place, 3D printed with the addition of protective “Wings”.

Power levels:

  • 5 power levels slowly increasing from very low to full power.

Unleash more performance and range with correct gearing.  Higher gears (smaller rear sprocket) does not mean higher top speed. Over labouring the motor with the wrong gearing costs top speed, acceleration and range.

A fast efficient spinning electric motor goes better – simple!.

Others copy, we improve and change. The old APT display (as used by everyone else) had a tendency to steam up on a hot day if  the  bike had been washed with a hose or exposed to very heavy rain.  So guess what? We went to another display manufacturer and had another display developed just for us. We are the only Sur Ron kit that now uses our dedicated display. Its got our programming and logo on it, so lets see how long before we are copied again (PS, its really good to use!)

There is no actual need to to reset the display between voltages however, the battery status will show incorrectly if you do not. This is a simple few button press in the settings.

The important factors to remember are:

On a Sur Ron “Bypassed” Battery. The battery if full at 67V and dead at 48v.  However you will not be able to charge your battery if you go below 54V. This does not harm the battery but you will need to use our “Recovery Charger”  if you want to get around 30% more range than a standard Sur Ron battery:

On a Sur Ron standard Battery the battery if full at 67V and empty at 54v.  The BMS in the battery will stop your battery from draining too far. In reality there is very little gain on running a standard Sur Ron battery with this controller.

Use your standard controller (no real power increase – just range) or swap out your controller and set it to 12000W and phase at 400A.  The battery is very similar in design as its faster 72V brother, but using a different cell and configuration to give maximum range without being crazy tall. We have given this battery a huge range. Perfect for trail riding or long distance commuting.

These are designed to go straight into a standard bike with X controller or for bikes that are set at 120000W 400A phase.

High Power Sur Ron Battery 16S13P 60v 3780Wh 63Ah Samsung 21700 cell (4800 mAh  per cell), with ANT Bluetooth BMS (works on IOS and Android for cell monitoring) designed to fit inside the Sur Ron battery compartment utilizing the existing battery tray. The Cells are genuine branded cells specifically designed for large capacity storage and reliability. Other inferior cells used in cheaper packs simply can’t deliver like these. If you think the cost is high, these batteries have 208 cells that retail in the UK for around £7 each! not including: BMS, fabrication and shipping taxes.

The whole battery is fitted in handmade stainless steel case designed to handle those inevitable and hopefully not painful “Offs” with hard off road rides and giving masses more protection. The casing is powder coated inside and out.

To get full range, you will need to purchase our 60 V charger or our recovery charger. the standard SR charger can only go as low as 54V  yet the battery can go as low as 48V
The main battery to controller connectors we use are the same type as used by Sur Ron to keep everything compatible. This allows you to swap your standard battery back should you wish.
Battery is in a super tough hand built stainless steel case designed to keep your battery safe in an accident and waterproofed, except for immersion or direct jet washing at the cable exits. although live terminals will short). Designed to fit straight into the bike and maximize the whole battery compartment (the hatch bolts need swapping out with longer bolts that we supply – 2 minutes and simple). No movement- no rattles!
No new charger required, just use your Sur Ron charger!!!!!
From our tests, not all Sur Ron frames are exactly the same. Sur Ron recently seem to have let their quality control down a bit. On our mark two prototype (pre releases) we suddenly found that our case did not fit in the 4th bike we tested it in.  Sur Ron had not cleaned the battery compartment frame welds. We then went back to the drawing board and re-designed the case.
The new and for sale case has fitted all 4 test bikes. Its a snug and tight fit to maximize the cell capacity and keep the battery as low as possible. It is very slightly possible that there is another bike out there with poor welds. In this case there is a very small possibility that your bike welds will need cleaning up with a Dremel/grinder, although with this latest design we have not found this in over 50 installs. This is a simple job and causes no damage to the bike. I would like to make the point clear that we do not expect this to be needed by 99.9% of our customers as the battery should slot straight in.

Please ALSO note, these are genuine new cells and made up into a complete battery specially designed by us, built at our oversees  factory or here in the UK by our dedicated battery builders. We simply can’t buy a single battery.  Thanks to Paypal fees, shipping and taxes the mark-up is minimal!

When connecting the battery to the bike and to avoid a spark, turn the red trip switch on the bike to off.

Charging: First time charging is VERY important. Always connect the charger to the battery with the charger powered up from the mains. This will stop a “Connection Spark”. The battery needs a “Balance Charge” on first charge. Please charge for 12 hours first time.

* Warranty is for 6 months from date of purchase. Due to the nature and use of these devices (off road) warranty is limited to 6 months from date of purchase. Any damage the result of water ingress and/or alterations may void warranty. This includes shortening of cables and changing connectors. It is the owners responsibility to protect against water ingress and not use in unacceptable or very wet conditions or to use direct water from a hose/washers.

Please note, Lithium batteries are considered hazardous and due care and attention should be taken. Although these cells are in wide use, and professionally manufactured in a purpose built factory; because of the power of the battery, we strongly recommend that precautions are taken. We do not recommend charging inside the family home and charging should be supervised. We take no responsibility for misuse. These batteries are thoroughly tested (full discharge and charge cycles at the manufacturing stage and also pre-delivery). These are not DIY or amateur built devices.


Self Fitting:

We will include a 14 page illustrated set of instructions however, we do strongly advise for one of our fitters to install. We do make the assumption that if your fitting this kit yourself, you know what you are doing. All kit leaves here tested and working. Think of it like this. You buy a motor from Honda, Suzuki etc and fit yourself. You would not expect Honda to talk you through the fitting. We will not give support outside of Monday – Friday normal business hours.

This is a plug and play system, but we now believe there are at least three slightly different versions of the Sur Ron Lightbee motor. This can cause some minor issues. Because of this we now include 1 hour free remote support during our working hours (9am – 5.30pm Mon-Friday). We strongly advise that you factor in our working hours when fitting. We will not give support outside these hours. To give remote support you will need either a media phone/note pad and a good internet connection.

We do not warranty damage caused from your fitting. Every kit is bench tested before leaving our premises.

Our warranty is limited to 12 months from time of purchase. Due to the use and the nature of this device (Off-Road) and the potential excess  exposure to: water, rain, mud and the possibility to sustained high powered use/abuse, we do not warranty controllers that show signs of damage, excess heat or water penetration. The controllers are fully bench tested working with a full working motor before leaving our premises. Any damage caused by your installation is not covered by our warranty. We highly recommend the use of one of recognized fitters where installation is fully covered.

Warranties are not transferable.

We reserve the right to slightly modify or change this product without notice.
